One of SA's best professional skateboarders
Jean-marc Keegan bryan Johannes (born November 19, 1990) is a South African professional skateboarder. He was born and raised in Cape Town, Athlone. Started skateboarding at the age of 9 years old, using an old skateboard that he inherited from his mother. He continued to pursue skateboarding although his school career. At the age of 11 years old, Jean-marc entered his first Pro/Am National skateboarding contest and placed 1st. He was then given an opportunity and sponsorship from a local skate shop, “Skate of Mind” that was established in Cape Town.
In 2005, Jean-marc ranked in the top 10 on the South African Ranking at the age of 15. As of 2012, Jean-marc Placed 6th in the Dam Am best trick in Amsterdam Am and Top 40 out of 150 overall. As of September 2012 Jean-marc Placed 5th at the Maloof Money Cup. Upon his first appearance at Tampa Am 2013 he ranked top 80 out of 200.
As of 2013 Jean-marc became the first skateboarder to Ollie from one Shipping container to another at three stories high, in front of one Cape Towns’ iconic Table Mountain, that is also now considered as one of the 7 wonders of the world. For two consecutive years Jean-marc Johannes along with three others have Won the world championship team skateboarding event hosted by the Kimberely Daimond Cup from 2013 to 2014.
As of 2014, Jean-marc competes in the Pro open at the Kimberely Daimond Cup Skateboarding world championship, and finished Top 20 out of 50 upon his first appearance.
